TACTICS
How ideas and principles become visible
Tactics describe how ideas and principles become visible on the pitch: how a team builds up, presses, transitions, protects space, and creates chances. Modern football demands that players understand the bigger picture, not just their own position.
The approach to tactics focuses on developing players who can read game situations and apply principles flexibly, rather than memorizing patterns that only work in one context.
We work with coaches to create game-real scenarios that reflect the demands of their playing model. This includes practices around playing out from the back, breaking pressure, compact defending, counter-attacking, and managing transitions in both directions.
Sessions are built around clear tactical questions:
How do we create superiority between the lines?
How do we control the opponent’s build-up?
Where and when do we press?
Players are encouraged to experiment, make decisions, and reflect on what worked and why.
The key is connecting match analysis and training design. Rather than copying drills from other clubs, coaches learn to design exercises that address their own team’s needs, using the language and principles that matter in their environment.
Over time, players build a deeper understanding of roles, relationships, and collective behaviours, which increases their ability to adapt to new systems and coaches at higher levels
